Noir Fiction: My new story at Akashic Books

Akashic Books, the publication behind the Noir series of books (Brooklyn Noir, Havana Noir, Paris Noir, etc.) advocates the “reverse-gentrification of the literary world”. Their website also offers a space for writers to publish their work. The Mondays are Murder segment features flash fiction on the theme of ‘place’, while Thursdaze publishes flash fiction focusing on drugs. My piece “Where There’s Smoke” is available for free as the latest addition to their Thursdaze feature. More of my fiction at Akashic is forthcoming…

Great story- love the dark, pessimistic humor. Reminds me of those stories in Akashic’s Manhattan Noir, edited by Noir great Lawrence Block. Look forward to seeing more of your work.
